1) Drafting Administrator – Bedrock Homes, Edmonton – Full Time

Bedrock Homes is currently seeking an experienced Drafting Administrator to join our dynamic team of professionals.

Drafting Administrator Responsibilities:
– Apply for plot plan, engineered details, roof and floor layouts, warranty, and window schedules.
– Apply for architectural approval from developer’s architectural agent.
– Generate permit application packages specific to building type and construction.
– Apply for development permit and building permit from several municipalities.
– Maintain and update all master and job file documentation within the department folders and library network.
– Work directly with Architectural Technologists to process job files quickly with complete accuracy.
– Check and verify drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
– Monitors permit approvals and delays.
– Print permit packages and documentation requests from the site team.
– Maintain all Drafting Department tracking systems.
– Process permit and inspection fee payments.
– Provide administrative support to all department members.

Drafting Administrator Skills:

Drafting Administrator Qualifications/Experience:
– Two (2) year diploma as an architectural technologist or equivalent is preferred.
– Technical certificates in architectural drafting related courses will be considered.
– One (1) year experience using computer-assisted design software.
– Strong skills with Microsoft Office is mandatory – must be fluent in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
– Must be able to read and understand residential wood frame blueprints.
– Knowledge of wood frame construction is mandatory.
– Experience in an administrative role is an asset.
– Knowledge of permitting processes is an asset.
– Must have interest in developing technical skills and advancement through internal training.

2) Accounts Payable Clerk – Bedrock Homes, Edmonton – Full Time

Bedrock Homes is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic team of professionals.

Accounts Payable Clerk Qualifications/Experience:
– Post-secondary school diploma in Accounting.
– 2+ years’ experience working in Accounts Payable. Accounts Payable experience in the residential homebuilding industry is considered an asset.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
– Sound knowledge and experience with Timberline 300 and AP Desk Homefront.
– Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
– Strong knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices.
– Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
– Experience in gathering data and compiling the proper information.
– Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.
– Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
– Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
– Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

– Proper document keeping including and not limited to filing and/or archiving.
– Reconciliation of accounts including and not limited to vendor accounts and/or corporate credit cards.
– Assist in vendor management.
– Investigate payment problems while following corporate AP policies and procedures.
– Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.

Bedrock Homes is currently seeking an experienced candidate that is looking to grow within our dynamic team of professionals.

Junior Accountant Qualifications/Experience:
– Post-secondary school diploma in Accounting.
– 3+ years’ accounting experience. Accounts Payable experience in the residential homebuilding industry is considered an asset.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
– Sound knowledge and experience with Timberline 300. Homefront experience is considered an asset.
– Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

– Preparation of daily bank deposits.
– Update training materials and departmental procedures as needed.
– Provide support to AP personnel.
– Answer queries and complaints from vendors and trades with respect to payment status and diffuse any potential issues.
– Form payment strategies to make timely AP payments and mitigate supplier objections.
– Ensure an accurate understanding of company policies in relation to allowances, expenses and direct payments.
– Analysis of monthly general ledger accounts including posting adjusting journal entries.
– Assist with preparation of operational budgets.
– Assist with preparation of documents for yearend financial statements.
